Ventrilo

The guild uses Ventrilo to speak to each other.


You will need the following information to access our Vent:

Ventrilo is a free program that you can download from

http://www.ventrilo.com/download.php

Once you have downloaded it - you need to create a user name, and also provide it with the details of the server you want to connect to. In this case the connection information (host, port and password) can be found ingame on the Guild Icon on your action bar - once that window is open, go to info - and you will see the vent details.

After you have done that you will want to set up Vent so that you can play WoW and talk easily at the same time. Go to Setup - make sure that your set up looks like this

The HOTKEY is the button that you will press to talk, while you are playing WoW. In this case, I have used the key immediately above the TAB key on the keyboard - as WoW does not use this key for any of its functions. It is called the Grave key - and looks like a backwards quotation mark - `

Common Problems

I cannot hear any sound coming through my headphones

 - Make sure you have your headphones plugged in BEFORE you start Vent - and that your regular sound is coming out through the headphones first.

I hear Clicking all the time when I press the Hotkey

- Make sure that Vent is minimised and that WoW is maximised.

My Hotkey doesn't work when I am playing WoW, I need to always have Vent maximised to be able to speak

- Try running Ventrilo as Administrator - right click the Vent icon and choose 'Run as Administrator'
